Honor Orchestra
- If you’re signed up, auditions are THIS SATURDAY, 12/1!
- You MUST enter from Piedmont Rd entrance, NOT Sandy Plains Rd. Please follow the signs.
- All students auditioning for honor orchestra received a personalized email last week with details. If you did not, please check Charmsoffice.com to make sure that your information is current.
- I will be giving hard copies to the students tomorrow just in case.
Poinsettia Fundraiser
- Poinsettias are set to be delivered Friday or Monday. Ms. Madison, Mr. Page and myself will send out notifications when they arrive. We appreciate the stupendous support of our families on this fundraiser!
6th Grade Polo Shirts
- Polos are set to be delivered later this week. Band, Chorus and orchestra students will be given their polos just as soon as they arrive.
Disney
- At this time, Disney paperwork submission is closed. We have had more participation this year than any year that I’ve been here at Daniell, so the roster is completely full and paperwork will be sent home by Friday. I am not able to offer any additional spots this year for those who missed the deadline.
- Please remember that if you are wait listed, you have the option to ask for a refund of your deposit OR stay on the wait list to see if a spot opens up.
Hoodie Order Forms
- The annual hoodie sale is about to begin! The kids are super excited about the awesome design this year, so stay tuned for a handout from your student with this information. 🙂
6th Grade Concert on DECEMBER 5th!!!
- Sixth graders will receive a written handout on Tuesday will final details for the concert. Please note the following two major changes from the original details handout:
- The concert is on WEDNESDAY, 12/5...NOT on Friday 12/7 due to a scheduling conflict with facility use.
- The concert will be held at 6:30 in the THEATER, not the gym. Please note that students must go home to eat dinner and return to Daniell for the concert. Sixth graders are not permitted to stay after school for concerts.
6th Grade Playing Test due 12/2
- Sixth grade playing test for this weekend is over #97 to demonstrate mastery of G major scale note reading as well as eighth note rhythms.
- Please make sure that your child is performing their playing tests. Any time a student receives a zero, they did not turn anything in.
7th Grade Unit 3 Exam & Playing Test due 12/2
- Playing test for this weekend is over #93 to demonstrate mastery of A natural minor scale. This is the final playing test for Unit 3 and will be worth 200 points, vs the usual 100 points in ParentVUE. Please make sure that your child is performing their playing tests. Any time a student receives a zero, they did not turn anything in.
- Unit 3 written Exam will be given on Monday, 12/3. A study guide will be provided this week in class. Students should review their red book vocab words and songs to prepare.
8th Grade Playing Test due 12/2
- Playing test for this weekend is to perform Divertimento in G from measure 29 to the end. Students should have already performed the first half of the piece earlier this month.
- Intonation, Tone, Rhythm and Dynamics will be counted towards the grade.
- Please remember that giggling, talking and other distractions are not appropriate during playing tests.
- Please make sure that your child is performing their playing tests. Any time a student receives a zero, they did not turn anything in.
