7th and 8th Grade Uniforms!

Uniform orders will be placed on Friday. Regardless of your personal payment status, all SIZES must be entered by Friday!!!! If I do not have your child’s size, I will not be able to order them a uniform. PLEASE ensure that you are filling out the required form on our website for your child.

The total cost of $60 is due on Friday. Please make checks payable to Daniell Middle School. Cash and My Payments Plus are also accepted. Please place any money in a labeled school envelope and have your child drop it into any school black box. Money should never be left in the classroom or in the orchestra turn in bin.

Cookie Fundraiser!

We are kicking off our first fundraiser of the year tomorrow. The items are Mrs. Fields cookies and other assorted goodies. The kids will get an overview of all the items tomorrow, sample some and learn their selling targets to earn cool prizes. The more items sold means more music, more clinicians to work with small groups and individual students and support for our large program. As always, we appreciate your support and know that we couldn’t do what we do without you, the parents and guardians!!!!

6th Grade Polo Shirts

If you are the parent of a sixth grader, the sizing form for the polos is listed on the uniforms page here on our website. Please fill in your child’s size. The payment of $25 isn’t due until September, but you should go ahead and fill our their size as soon as possible. As with 7/8 uniforms, I can’t order your child’s required polo without a size. If your child is in chorus AND orchestra, you only need to order ONE shirt. Our polo is the same as band and chorus for sixth grade students.

8th Grade Disney Trip

Please be on the lookout for your child to bring home their Disney packet! We are working to complete these some time next week. From the moment the students bring home the packets, the list begins to fill. In order to secure your spot, you must fill it out in its entirety and the student must turn it in to the front office with the deposit. If any part is missing, our book keeper will not sign off and assign your student a number spot. Spots are first come, first served, so waiting until the deadline might mean you get a spot on the waiting list. Please try to return them as quickly as possible. 🙂


If you are not a member of our Remind groups, please join them so you get up-to-date text info. I use this to communicate with the students very frequently and remind them about playing tests as well as other important things.

Supplies for Class

All students need to have their Sound Innovations book in class as soon as possible. We are using them daily. Sixth grade will begin using theirs on Friday this week. All students can find their name label on our piano as soon as they bring them to class. All books should be labeled to prevent loss. Shoulder rests should also be labeled with our paint pen in class.

Every student needs a three ring binder or folder for their daily bell ringers. Their Friday check-point quizzes are always based on their written work. Many worksheets are being left on the floor after class every day, which puts students at a disadvantage because they can’t review for tests and quizzes. If there is no name at the top, I’m unable to return it to its owner, so please remind students to always write their name on everything and keep track of their worksheets in their binder.


Instruments should be brought daily and taken home daily. Leaving a violin or viola in the instrument locker will result in an email home and possible further consequences depending on the frequency of reminders sent home. Also, a broken string does NOT need to be left in a shop to fix. If a student pops a string, please purchase the individual string at a shop or on amazon and I will put it on quickly in class.
