Orchestra Hoodie/Magnet Fundraiser: Our Hoodies for 2017-18 are now for sale! Your child received a purple order form that must be turned in to the turn in bin to place the order. All money goes in the school envelope and into the black box. Please also remember that car magnets are available for $5 to show your support for the orchestra around town! Please see examples of hoodie colors below: (Sapphire, Cherry Red, Grey, Hot Pink)
8th Grade Trip: All slots for the Disney trip have been filled. Thank you for your prompt responses and attention to this matter. More details and chaperone information will go out later this week or early next week. (If your child didn’t bring their blue form today, they let me know their decision and must bring the form tomorrow!)
6th Grade Concert: Due to my longer than anticipated maternity leave, I am postponing the first 6th grade concert until spring semester so that we can focus on important playing technique and note reading skills in class. There is no concert on December 12 for orchestra, however please check out the 7/8 grade holiday chorus concert that night!
7/8 Grade Concert: We will have our winter concert at Lassiter Hall on December 15th at 7pm. CDs and DVDs will be available for purchase during intermission and at the very end. Our goal is to have a full audience from start to finish to show as much support for all groups performing that night, so please consider staying until the performance concludes following eighth grade. In addition, please remember that all sounds and movements are picked up by the mics and appear on the CDs and DVDs. 🙂
Chamber Orchestra: Chamber orchestra auditions are taking place today during class. Rehearsal begins THIS THURSDAY after school until 6:30. If your child passes their audition and becomes a member, please pack a snack for them on Thursdays. We meet in the orchestra room right after school, eat our snacks, and then begin rehearsing. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to pick your child up promptly at 6:30. Late pickups will result in dismissal from the group.
